WOW! What a journey this has been and it’s only been a few weeks. Recently, my husband John & I decided to buy a house. We have been renting for YEARS and decided that this was no better time than any to invest in something that would be OURS. Once we really dove into the process we quickly realized that people are not kidding when they say this is a huge step and kind of stressful. To be honest, neither of us really have the time or desire to make our 1st home a huge project – and after looking for weeks at preexisting homes and feeling a little deflated we decided to see what new construction was all about… and let me tell you, once you start really looking at cost, even that is stressful. After looking at 3 different communities and comparing what each community had to offer in the way of closing costs, appliances that were included, incentives that were included, and so on. When we planned everything out on paper it just made the most sense to go with the community we chose. Our mortgage was within our means, our purchase price was below our original budget and we were getting so much for our money. We settled on a cute little development of brightly colored townhomes; the neighborhood was perfect and filled with craftsman and costal influences.
One of the big reasons we chose this townhouse, a reason that I am SUPER EXCITED about, it has a designated area that is perfect for the JHP office! A space to decorate and cover the walls with photos of my beautiful clients, a space that is bright and welcoming, and most important a space that is comfortable for meeting and sharing. I can’t wait until our house is built and I am able to hold client meetings in my new home office…something that I have been dreaming about for 2 years. With that said, I hope all my clients are ready for their final meetings to be held in our home.
Thank you all so much for reading the 1st part of this series. I can’t wait to share the entire process with you all and we build our 1st home.
XO – J
